Gmail and Google Calendar in Magnet Customer
Magnet Customer is a CRM for investment offices, financial advisors and wealth managers. Connecting your Google Account is optional and brings your email and calendar into the CRM, next to each client.
This page explains what the integration does, which permissions it requests and what we never do with your data.
Google AccountKnow which account was connected
Your name and your Google Account email address.
Read and organise your email
To show the conversation with each client and reflect in Gmail what you do in the CRM.
Send email on your behalf
Only the messages you write and send from the CRM.
See and update your calendar
To bring CRM meetings into Google Calendar and check when you are free.
You can revoke access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions
What changes in your day
Email history on the client record
Emails exchanged with a client appear on their record, next to meetings, deals and notes. Nobody has to copy messages into the CRM.
Sent from your address
You write and reply to clients from inside the CRM, and the message goes out through your Gmail. Marking as read or archiving in the CRM applies to your inbox too.
Calendar in both directions
Meetings scheduled in the CRM go to Google Calendar, and changes made in the calendar come back to the CRM. When scheduling, the CRM checks your free time.
Permissions and why we ask for them
We only request the permissions these features use. Google shows each one on the consent screen before you authorise.
| Permission | What it allows | What we use it for |
|---|---|---|
openid, email, profile | Identify your Google Account | Know which account is connected and show your name and email in the integration. |
gmail.readonly | View your Gmail messages and settings | Show on each client record the emails exchanged with them. |
gmail.modify | Read and change messages, without permanently deleting them | Mark as read, apply labels, archive and manage drafts from the CRM. |
gmail.send | Send email on your behalf | Send the messages you write in the CRM. |
calendar.readonly | View your calendars | List your calendars and check free time when scheduling a meeting. |
calendar.events | View and edit events on your calendars | Create, update and remove the events of meetings scheduled in the CRM, and bring back changes made in the calendar. |
The technical names shorten the full permission address. For example, gmail.readonly stands for https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly.
What we never do with your Google data
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We do not sell your Google data.
We do not use this data for advertising, credit assessment or lending.
We do not use this data to train artificial intelligence models.
We do not use Google APIs or Google data to create, edit or distribute AI-generated non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII), or any sexual content.
Nobody on our team reads your email, except with your express permission, for security purposes, to comply with the law, or in aggregated and anonymised form.
Artificial intelligence and your email
When your account uses the Magnet Customer AI assistant, it may read synced emails to fulfil a request of yours, such as summarising the conversation with a client. It only reaches what you can already see in the CRM, and the content is processed by Anthropic, our AI provider, under a contract that prohibits using it to train models.
If your account administrator connects an external assistant through the MCP connector and enables access to email, that assistant reads the same emails, within the permissions the administrator set.
No Magnet Customer feature generates images from Google data.
You decide
Connecting is optional
The integration only starts when you authorise it yourself on Google's consent screen. The CRM works without it.
Disconnect at any time
From the CRM itself or at myaccount.google.com/permissions. When you disconnect email and calendar from the CRM, access is revoked at Google and syncing stops.
Your data leaves with you
Removing the integration deletes the emails and events already synced to the CRM. You can also request deletion at privacidade@magnetcustomer.com.
